We have available non-invasive pressure flow urodynamic equipment for use in men which allows us to perform an assessment of your bladder pressure when passing urine and your urine flow rate. This can be done without an invasive catheter into the bladder, making it faster, cleaner and less painful. Combined with an ultrasound to assess how well you empty your bladder, this allows us to make a much better assessment of any obstruction and understand which treatment is the best option for you.
Where we require further information regarding your bladder pressure when filling, overactivity of your bladder wall and pressure generated when voiding, we have the ability to perform cystometry, more commonly referred to as urodynamics. These tests can be very helpful in assessing which treatment option is best suited to you.
