Dr Kieran Beattie is an Australian trained urological surgeon with interests in many facets of urology, from lower urinary tract symptoms to stone disease and cancer. His primary interest lies in minimally invasive management of both benign and malignant diseases of the kidney and ureter.

Kieran studied medicine at the University of Sydney Medical School, graduating with honours in 2009. He then completed a Master of Surgery degree and commenced his training with the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) in 2013. While training, he was presented with the George Schnitzler award for registrar of the year in 2017, passing his FRACS examination that same year and completing his urology training in 2019.

Kieran travelled to Manchester, United Kingdom, for international fellowship training in robotic and minimally invasive surgery of the kidney and upper urinary tract. He has presented research both nationally and internationally, with several awards, and is an author on numerous publications.

Kieran has a further special interest in surgical education, having been a USANZ trainee representative. He is an active mentor to medical students and trainee surgeons and takes great pride in overseeing their development. He was recently appointed as one of two well-being officers for surgery at John Hunter Hospital, as well as the training supervisor for urology. In the same manner, he provides empathetic and professional care for his patients. His aim is to be approachable and accessible for all patients, while providing excellent surgical care.

Dr Dane Cole-Clark

Dr Dane Cole-Clark is a specialist urologist and robotic surgeon with extensive expertise in minimally invasive urological oncology and general urological care across Newcastle and the Hunter Valley. His primary focus centres on robotic surgery for urological cancers, with particular expertise in prostate, bladder, and renal malignancies. He also has expertise in stone disease and treatment options for benign prostatic enlargement.

Dane completed school in the Hunter Valley prior to completing an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Sydney. He undertook his medical education at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery in 2012. He undertook two years of accredited General Surgical training before commencing advanced urology training with the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ). After completing his Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) training across NSW hospitals, he was selected for a prestigious international high-volume robotic oncology fellowship at Norfolk and Norwich Hospital, UK.

Dane has demonstrated commitment to advancing urological practice through research and education. He completed a Master of Surgery at the University of Sydney and a Master of Surgical Education at the University of Melbourne. His research contributions include publications in national and international journals, with work on prostate cancer conducted in collaboration with Cancer Council Australia. During his training, he served as NSW and National trainee representative, sitting on the Board of Urology.

Dane has recently returned to Newcastle and the Hunter Valley with a focus on surgical excellence and meticulous patient care. His clinical interests encompass the full spectrum of urological conditions, with particular expertise in minimally invasive and robotic surgical techniques. He provides compassionate, professional care whilst ensuring patients have comprehensive understanding of their conditions through collaborative decision-making and clear communication.
